A 16 hour course - Introduction To Studio Recording
Introduction To Studio Recording will offer studio experience with an overview of studio design, equipment, recording and studio operation. Learn the basics while working with the latest recording equipment in a professional studio. Students will have the opportunity to review types of microphones, recording and mixing equipment and editing.
After completing 12 hours of class time, each student will be required to schedule an individual 4-hour recording session at The Planet Recording Studios.
The courses will take place commencing November 2006 on the following days:
Friday - 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Saturday - 8:00 pm - 5:00 pm (hour break for lunch)
Courses are run by Planet Studio owner David Wright. David founded the AD Music Record label in 1989. and has 20 years of music
biz experience and is an engineer, composer of music and regular live performer. David also lectures on music technology.
Working with David is Nigel Turner-Heffer , a guitarist and keyboard player and an arranger and producer of production music for television, corporate videos and live event whose musical credits include music for BMW, Volvo and TVs The Trisha Show.

Introduction to Studio Recording
Learn the basics of working with the latest recording equipment in a professional studio. The 16-hour class size is limited to 4 students so each participant will have time for questions and Studio experience
Friday - 4 hour class will provide an overview of studio design, operation and equipment.
Saturday - 8 hour class will cover overview microphones, recording, mixing and editing.
After completing 12 hours of class time, each student will be required to schedule an individual 4-hour recording session at The
Planet Recording Studio. At that time the student will record, edit and mix their recording project from start to finish. The studio
will provide a professional engineer, solely for supervision this will be your personal class project.
Note:
Any studio time scheduled or used above the 4 hours included in the course will be billed and paid in full at a 20% discounted rate
of £16.00 per hour.
The student may bring his/her own musicians for this session of the course or The Planet Recording Studio can provide artists for
you at an agreed upon fee.

We offer private instruction for digital recording and music production.
Lesson Fees
4 x 60 minute lessons: £100.00
Payment Policy
All fees are payable in advance and are nonrefundable. The due dates for each term are listed below. Please make checks payable to
your private teacher.

Absenteeism:
1. Students will be excused from lessons without charge only when 48 hours notice is provided.
2. If proper notice is given, one lesson, and only one lesson per 10 weeks will be rescheduled.
3. Failure to give ample notice, or missing more than one lesson per 10 weeks will result in a charge for the missed lesson(s). Please do
not assume teachers can offer unlimited make-up lessons. Teachers will do their best to keep consistent schedules, but time and space
will not, in most cases, allow for multiple make-up lessons.
4. Snow days will be honored when area schools have been closed.
5. Students may be excused from lessons during national and religious holidays.
